چکیده

Background Revascularization endovascular techniques have been used with success in Takayasu arteritis (TA), but relapses sometimes appear. (1) There is much debate regarding optimal management and outcomes of patients who underwent these procedures. (2,3) Objectives The aim the study was to investigate long-term efficacy percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) TA from a Romanian tertiary rheumatology center factors that might influence it. Methods Data clinical charts diagnosis established last 15 years interventional revascularization procedures were retrospectively studied. Symptoms, laboratory investigation results, data about treatment outcome analyzed at baseline follow-up. Results 11 interventions PTA 6 TAK, all them women. mean follow-up period 59 months. Cardiologists ones diagnosed disease 83% included. delay 74 months, while biggest 242 Hypertension first sign 3 patients, rest complained limb claudication (2 patients) acute ischemia phenomenon (1 patient). average duration until 65 months most done time (54%). performed active 100% cases biological inflammatory syndrome present 45% cases. Symptoms relief seen patients. Restenosis – two lack adherence one patient wasn’t given immunosuppression (due diagnosis). experienced 52 after PTA, on average. included relapse 2 hypertension renal failure artery restenosis. Inflammatory markers raised Clinical improvement reintervention. Conclusion valuable intervention significantly improves symptoms. Relapses may appear especially deficient immunosuppression, they need interventions. References [1]Diao Y, Yan S, Premaratne Chen Tian X, Z et al. Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty for Brain Ischemia due to Takayasu’s Arteritis

arteriopathy of unknown etiology that commonly affects the aorta and its major branches as well as the pulmonary artery. Clinical manifestations vary depending on the sites and severity of the occlusive vascular lesions (1-3). The neurological manifestations of TA mainly results from decreased blood flow caused by steno-occlusive lesions of arch and cervical arteries to the brain and/or shiftin...

Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty.

Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) is a nonoperative mechanical dilatation of atherosclerotic coronary artery stenosis by a balloon-tipped dilating catheter system. This method can effectively reduce highly stenotic coronary lesions and provide early recovery of ischemic but viable myocardium. The technique of transluminal angioplasty was originally devised by Dotter and Judk...
